Our participation in WaterTribe's 2001 Cruising Challenge
Here are some old pictures of the 2001 Cruising Challenge, which was a 250 mile small boat race from St Petersburg to Key Largo. Ed Engel and I lashed two double sea kayaks together into a sailing catamaran. As you can see the wind and waves were quite large. The photos here were taken on Sarasota Bay. The waves were even larger when we crossed Tampa Bay, so much so that we couldn't spare a hand for a camera.
